Sun Creams 50mls

Dermaviduals® Suncreams SPF30 and SPF50 contain new generation, photostable sun screen agents protecting from UVA and UVB rays that could otherwise age and burn the skin.

Creams with SPF30 absorb about 98% of UVB radiation. In other words, they allow you to stay about 30 times longer in the sun before an erythema (sun burn) will develop.

Creams with SPF50 will allow you to stay about 50 times longer.

These products contain a combination of these new generation sun screen agents that work well together. When combined they have the ability to absorb ultraviolet light over a wide range of wave lengths offering broad spectrum protection from UVA and UVB radiation and have excellent photostability.

Information on the sunscreens in Dermaviduals SPF30 & SPF50

Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane  - also know as Avobenzone.  Protects against the whole UVA range 310-400nm which includes both UVA 1 and UVA2 with a peak protection at 360nm.  Diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate - also known as DHHB - a "new generation" sunscreen designed for high UVA protection and high photostability  It gives sun protection in the whole UVA range (320-400nm) with peak protection at 354nm.

Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone - also known as Uvasorb HEB.  This is known as "super photo stable" and loses only 10% of it's SPF protection ability in 25 hours.  In the world of sunscreen 2 hours is counted as photostable so 25 hours is quite considerable.  It requires only low concentrations to achieve high SPF values.  It protects in the UVB and UVA 11 range but not in the UVA 1 range with a peak protection at 310nm.  It is water repellant and water resistant.

The two sunscreens below are also in SPF30

Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine - also known as Tinosorb.  This is considered one of the best sunscreen agents known today.  It is broad spectrum covering the whole UVA and UVB range - 280-400nm with peak protection at 310nm to 345nm.  It is very photostable, hardly deteriorating at all in the presence of UV light and is also useful in stabilising other less stable sun screen agents.

Ethylhexyl Triazone - another "new generation" sunscreen also known as octyl triazone and Uvinvit 150.  It gives the highest photostable absorption of all available UVB filters today.  It protects in the UVB range 280-320nm with a peak protection of 314nm.

The sunscreen below is also in SPF50

Sodium phenylbenzimidazole sulfonate - a UVB filter with a peak protection at 306nm which is also photostable. Most sunscreen agents are oil soluble but this is water soluble so helps to create a lighter textured product which is more user friendly.
